Lexus LF A Overview
Lexus has developed a race-bred performance supercar for the 21st century performance driver.
Only 500 LF A models will be produced with just a handful destined for the UK making it a genuinely exclusive car.
Powered by mid-front mounted 4.8-litre V10 engine with 9,000rpm red line, the LF A has a maximum power of 552bhp and maximum torque of 480Nm accelerating to 62mph from standing in just 3.7 seconds and capable of reaching a top speed of 202 mph.
Advanced technologies abound in the LF A along with the use of advanced materials, including Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) construction and Carbon Ceramic Material (CCM) brakes.
Keeping the car’s weight to an absolute minimum led to the car’s construction using advanced Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) for the chassis and bodywork. Built in-house the CFRP is four times the strength of aluminium but is far more flexible providing more opportunity to mould and shape than a metal body.
The LF A is equipped with Lexus’s Vehicle Dynamic Integrated Management (VDIM) system, which co-ordinates the smooth operation of the ABS, vehicle stability and traction control systems. Of course, the LF A is equipped with extensive passive and safety features to match its high performance capabilities.
